The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Review

What's up guys? I recently finished the main story of Skyrim, killed Alduin etc. I wanted to write a bit of what I thought about the game.

I haven't played many RPG's before Skyrim, so I don't really have anything to compare it with, but I think Skyrim is pretty good. Not excellent, but it was still really fun. I have about 30 hours on the game and not one of those were wasted doing boring stuff.
My character is a Breton female who is an assassin/thief. I started doing The Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild quests to supplement my skills in those areas.
While the main story is pretty short (I was actually surprised at how short it was) it was fun and interesting. One thing is that it was a bit too easy. I did have some trouble killing Alduin, but after learning the Dragonrend shout, dragons are extremely easy.

But Skyrim's specialty is not the main story, it's the huge amount of side stories and quests the player can accomplish. As I said before, I am currently doing the Dark Brotherhood and Thieve's Guild stories, and many little quests here and there to fill my time.

One thing I don't like is adventuring. What I mean about that is like in GTA games, you can steal a car and travel through the world killing people and running from cops, never getting bored. However in Skyrim, taking your horse and galloping through the countryside is not very exciting unless you find a cave or a dragon, giant, etc. I guess this is the difference between GTA and Skyrim (besides the obvious, of course): GTA has more fun in the freedom of roaming around the world and shooting up some gangbangers, but less actual quests, and Skyrim is the opposite. But don't get me wrong, I still enjoy jumping on a horse and traveling through the world instead of fast traveling, but in GTA it is just so much better.

Some tips I learned

  • Don't pick up useless items, I get overencumbered endlessly, because I pick up anything I think has value and I can sell
  • Use the quick menu a lot, I put most of the stuff I use, all my weapons, shouts, in the quick menu and it saves a great deal of time, instead of going to the menu, then items, then finding what you want
  • Pick up food, while potions are good, they are hard to make and expensive. I usually pick up steaks and meat and the like, and when I am out of potions, I eat all of my food to regain all of my health, then I repeat. While fighting Alduin I actually ate about 20 potatoes, and when I did kill him I was around 10% health, so those potatoes saved me
  • If you use bows, pick up every type of arrows you see. They don't count as weight, and even though there are really strong arrows, you might not want to use them and you'd use a crappy Falmer arrow to kill a little wolf instead.
Overall, I give this game a 9/10
Best thing about this game is replayability, as I finished the main quest at around 20 hours and have played half of those hours and 10 more afterwards on side quests.
Here is a mammoth frozen into a glacier stuck with arrows... for your enjoyment

Why I love GTA: San Andreas

This game is just so unrealistic, but so fun.
Ryder is smoking a big blunt right in front of this police officer, no problem though, Ryder is too OG to get caught.

LG Flatron E2341 23" 1080p

What's up guys, I recently picked up this amazing monitor from Fry's for $170. It was a gigantic difference from the old crappy 17" HP monitor I used to have. Here is a comparison of the two

Yes that's a Breaking Bad wallpaper.
This monitor makes everything look spectacular, and the buttons on it are very strong and not flimsly like some buttons on other monitors. Though if you don't turn off the monitor and turn off your PC, it goes into sleep mode, where the On/Off button flashes Blue every few seconds, which becomes annoying if you have it in your bedroom. But that can easily be remedied with turning it off.

Well I've been playing Skyrim lately, and I did not get my Graphics Card yet, I was thinking maybe with some extra money on Christmas I could buy something even better than a 6850, which would be awesome.

AMD Phenom II x2 555 Unboxing Video

Here is another unboxing video, this time of my amazing CPU. This CPU is awesome if you are on a budget and you can survive with a dual core, unless you unlock it of course.

RAM unboxing video up!

I got these for really cheap at Newegg and they have been working wonders. I'll soon get another 4gb to have a total of 8gb.
Sorry for the crappy quality didn't think it would turn out this bad.
Enjoy!

PC Info

Ok guys, I've been playing Skyrim all day today, and even though I only get about 25 FPS on the lowest settings and 800x600, I've been having a blast. Now it's time to stop procrastinating and write a post about my long awaited computer.
Elite 430 Case
AMD Phenom II and GSkill Badges
No cable management whatsoever, I'll try to fix it when I get my GPU.

OK so that's pretty much how it looks, now let's take a look at the performance, which I value way over looks.
So the CPU came stock at a dual core 3.2GHz, but I easily unlocked the disabled cores and overclocked to 4.2 GHz. However temps were reaching 56C Idle, so I brought it down to 3.6GHz, for now. At the end of this month I'll be getting my Cooler Master Hyper 212+, so I will probably go around 4GHz at most, just to be safe.
The voltage seemed a bit high, but everything is stable so far.

Why you should buy a Black Edition Phenom II
It is so easy to overclock! Just by changing the multiplier in AMD overdrive, increasing the voltage slightly and messing around a bit, I overclocked in a heartbeat.
That's it, I just increased that Multiplier Slider, and bam, 3600 MHz

Now, what I absolutely despised about building my computer.
1. Installing Windows 7 was hard to do, I had to connect the IDE cable from my old desktop and power them both on, and put the old one on top of my new one, because the IDE cable wa a bit short. I can't really blame that on anything besides my not wanting to buy a CD drive.
2. The Windows 7 disk I burned, did not work, I had to change down the burn speed to 1x, reburn it, and it finally worked, although it took a while to burn it at that speed
3. Drivers
3a. Could not connect to internet at all; had to download LAN drivers from my motherboard's website from another computer and bring it to the desktop, but even then, only wired works, gotta figure that out before I move my computer away from the router.
3b. I had to install the AMD Graphics drivers 3 times before they finally worked. But they were easy to use, and I had no games to play while using it, Skyrim was downloading, so it didn't even really matter.
3c. The mouse suddenly stopped working, had to connect it to my laptop, and reinstall the drivers to get it functioning again, but not without 3 restarts
4. Headset didn't work, when I plugged it into the headphone jack, only the headphones worked, and only the microphone worked when I plugged it into the mic jack. Might be something wrong with the headset, but I have a spare webcam I used for a mic

Other than that, I'm loving my computer! I can play Team Fortress 2 without any lag, and on lowest settings I'm playing Skyrim at 20-30 FPS. Boot times are faster than what I would expect of a 5400RPM drive, but then I guess it will be dramatically improved when I get an SSD.
One thing is that, it's sometimes loud. Just at random some of my fans start picking up more speed and get louder. There was one 10 second period where every fan was going faster than intended, and it sounded like a jet engine, but that never happened again, and these random speed increases seem to have stopped for now.

What's left to buy:
  • GPU, 99% going to be Sapphire 6850
  • Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus Heatsink/Fan
  • Coby 2.1 Speakers
  • 23" 1080p monitor
  • Crucial M4 64GB SSD
  • Either 500 or 1 TB 7200 RPM HDD once prices drop
  • Another stick of 4GB GSkill RAM, if it seems like I need it
  • Better Keyboard and Mouse, I can survive with the mouse, but this keyboard's going to give me carpal tunnel soon because of its shape
  • More games!
  • A Lamborghini
Alright hope you guys enjoyed this long post, gonna be writing a lot more long posts like this soon.

PC is working!

Well, I went to Fry's yesterday with my dad to buy my case, and when we went, he lent me $50 to buy a power supply. It was the same brand, Antec, so I was kind of reluctant at first, but it all worked out in the end. Well we got home, I plug in the power supply, nothing. Right before I suited up to go bomb Antec for their second defunct PSU, my dad, an electrician, wanted to try something. He said just flipping on the switch for the PSU won't open it, you need a motherboard connection to switch it on. Well that's exactly what we did, and it worked. My old one was probably not DOA either, I was just stupid enough to think that it would turn on completely just by flipping the switch. Well now after a good night's rest, we're installing Windows 7. I'll get some more pics and info later.
I also successfully unlocked the 2 dormant cores, so now I have a quad core CPU, but I didn't check if it's 100% stable yet, but once I get into my OS, that's the first thing I'll do.

Got my Computer Stuff... but....

I am almost to the point of crying right now. So I got home and found my box on my doorstep. Excited, I ran inside and unboxed everything (videos of unboxing coming soon) and was so confident I didn't even open a guide on how to build a PC because I remembered everything I needed. I opened my motherboard and set it on its box. Then I took out my CPU and installed it and the heatsink/fan. Then I took out my RAM and easily installed that. Then came the enemy of this story, the Antec 550w Power Supply. I happily took the little demon out of it's box and started installing all the power cables. I brought my whole setup to the TV and attached it to the motherboard via HDMI cable. I decided to try to connect my HDD to the computer and succeeded, which means I won't need that adapter. I was happy, and I connected the PSU to the wall. Extremely excited, I slowly pushed my hand towards the on/off button. I closed my eyes and flipped it open.
NOTHING!
THE POWER SUPPLY WAS DEAD ON ARRIVAL!
Now I have to go through a painstaking RMA experience to get a working PC.
And what sucks even more is every single other part could be defective, but I won't know because without the PSU there is no way to test other parts. So I could get the power supply back and have to send in my CPU or something, unlikely, but it could happen.
Well here's some of my pictures of my pseudo-computer right before I turned it on-wait I didn't ever turn it on.
I don't have my case by the way, which is why it's like this.
Well, hopefully the second part isn't defective, or else I will probably start cutting myself.
Well, sorry for all the delays, but unless ^ happens then I will have at least one good post by the end of next week.

Finally Ordered my PC!

Well, after weeks of delays, I have finally ordered my PC
Here are the final specs:
AMD Phenom ii x2 555 BE (going to unlock to 4 cores)
G Skill 4GB 1333 DDR3 RAM
Biostar A880G+ MotherBoard
Antec BP550 Plus 550w PSU
Cooler Master Elite 430 Case
I'm also getting 2 80mm MASSCOOL fans and 1 120mm blue LED Rosewill fan
Also, a Laptop HDD to IDE adapter so I can use my laptop Hard Drive as my main, until I get a SSD
I was going to get a 500GB HDD but with that flood in Taiwan, Hard Drive prices have skyrocketed, so I will make do with 224 GB until HDD prices go down to about $50 for 500GB like they were before.
I'm also going to get a Sapphire Radeon 6850 for $150 next month, but I'll still have about $100 left over, so I have two options for next month.
1. I buy a 64 GB SSD and put all my OS files for ultimate boot speeds
2. I hold on to it and get a monitor the next month, hopefully a 23 inch 1080p

Depending on how much money I have next month, I probably can buy the monitor later and still buy the SSD at the end of this month, so #1 is my preferred choice, but I want to know what you guys think. Please rate my system and tell me if I should do 1 or 2!

And another thing that sucks, the adapter thing for my HDD has 3 day shipping instead of the 2 day shipping everything else has, so I won't be able to use it until Monday, unless UPS has a change of heart and brings it early :)

Pics coming soon, and I will most likely be playing Minecraft, TF2, L4D, and those types of low graphics games until I get my GPU.

Expect a lot more posts next week, and happy 11/11/11!

Grand Theft Auto V Announced!

I know most of you have probably already heard this but I decided to write a post anyway.
Well, I'm excited for this game. I didn't really get to play GTA IV so much but I thoroughly enjoyed San Andreas and Vice City.
Everyone has been waiting for the new GTA, and after Rockstar released two new games, Red Dead Redemption and LA Noire.
I began to lose hope that a new Grand Theft Auto would come out, but I've regained my faith in Rockstar again. Not much to say about the trailer, but the game looks much prettier than IV and hopefully they add more graphics mods like GTA IV.
Again, there isn't much to say, and I'm still not sure who in the trailer is in the main character, but I know Rockstar will make an amazing game like always!
By the way, I'm sorry for the short posts lately, I've been having some problems ordering my parts, but as soon as I get it, expect more reviews and longer posts!

Some Video Game Art/Wallpapers

What's up guys, instead of actually taking my time to write out a post, I decided to share some artwork in the video game category that I thought was cool/interesting. Of course all of the credit goes to the original artists, I didn't draw a single one of these and I never will be able to.

First is the concept art from Infamous. Infamous is one of my favorite games and I've always been astounded by the comicbook-esque art they had in the cutscenes. Here are some pics.

Next is some Legend of Zelda art. Again, Legend of Zelda games are also one of my favorite games, and this picture makes me think people went to college to learn art for making LoZ art!
                              Just amazing!

And here is some Minecraft, another one of my favorite games.

And here is some alternative Pokemon art.

These alt-art pokemon pics always seem to scare me.
Some Team Fortress art everyone has probably already seen, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be shared!

I love me some mash-up art.

That's it for me, enjoy these art works.
An update for my computer
I'm getting most of my computer this month, it will probably be built by at latest Friday, so I will post pics, and some Minecraft posts for the next few weeks. But unfortunately I will be rocking an IGP for a month, so  the most graphics-intensive game I will be able to play is Left 4 Dead, maybe Portal 2. But next month around this time I will be getting my new graphics card, HIS 6790 (for now, might change it up soon idk), so then expect a lot more gaming reviews and maybe even videos.

My thoughts on Battlefield 3

Sorry for not writing a post in a long time guys, haven't really got the chance or had an idea of what to write.
But I finally got to play Battlefield 3 on PC at my friends house.
Here is his rig just to give you an idea:
AMD x4 2.5 GHz
8 GB DDR2
XFX Radeon 6790
We played Battlefield 3 on 1080p with everything high without any lag.
I gotta say, this game is AMAZING!
I couldn't fly a plane for beans, but it was still fun crashing into the ground or jumping out of the plane and parachuting to the ground. I also sucked really badly, the worst of my games being 1-10. But I still had lots of fun. Tanks are slow, so my favorite vehicles were the cars/humvees/whatever. I played on the engineer class, but I was never able to destroy a single tank, which sucked.
His graphics performance also made me decide to get the same card as him and save up the extra money for something special, like an SSD or something. Also an update: I'm very close to getting my PC parts, got to wait until beginning of next week to order everything.
OK, back to the topic, we played for about 4 hours, and I have to say, not one of those minutes were wasted. This game is awesome and I don't get why people are hating on it. The graphics look amazing, my only gripe is how to handle two people coming at you that are not lined up. I've never survived one of those encounters. Next month, I will be hooked on this game. I just need mah damn GPU!!!!!!

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Hey guys, this is one of my favorite games of all time! Having very little system requirements, I was able to play and finish this game on my PC a few years ago. I love this game! There is so much you can do, especially if you download mods, but you should save that for after you finish the game. "What do you mean?" you say? "A game you can keep playing by yourself after you finish the campaign?" Yes. This, like I'm pretty sure all of Rockstar's games are, is open world and non-linear, sometimes called sandbox. While Minecraft is 100% sandbox, GTA still has a lot of missions having to do with the story. So you can't just start roaming around as soon as you start the game. As you go through with the mission, more side quests and places are unlocked, and that is where the fun begins.
As you can see, the map is huge. When you begin the game, you start out at the bottom right city, and you are unable to go anywhere else, which I'll explain later. After some quests, you get to move out into the top right and bottom left and after a while, you are able to virtually go anywhere, which has wasted some of my days while playing this game. Driving quickly with a motorcycle or a Lambo (mods) through the country is amazing, especially with the fact that if you play this on PC, you can configure the radio so that your songs are the songs on the radio. I praise Rockstar for adding this neat feature.
So this is how the story goes, you are CJ, or Carl Johnson, a former gangbanger, returns to his home city of Los Santos after he hears of his mother's death. Scumbag police officers, Tenpenny and Pulaski pull hims over and drop him off far away. You begin while riding a bike back to your old house. Sean Johnson, or Sweet, Carl's brother, blames Carl for their mother's death, because he left to live in Liberty City. That is the basis of the story, and I won't go more into it because the story is just incredibly long.
Most of the game is either you doing favors for someone in exchange for something, or you doing something with your friends. My favorite mission in this game was when you are robbing a casino. It reminded me of the Ocean's series.

Overall, this game is one of the most fun, exciting, painstaking, annoying, awesome and horrible games I've played. Of course the negative responses are towards the missions I just could not seem to beat. The last mission required me to use mods to get through, but don't worry, I did it without hacks in my second playthrough of this game. I think around 10 days of my life have been spent playing this game, but what can I say? It's really fun, however you probably don't want to play this game around a younger kid.

Breaking Bad!

What's up guys? The reason posting has been real slow is because I have been just hooked on this little show called Breaking Bad. While reading the Wikipedia plot or something from IMDB may make it seem kind of a strange show, don't worry, this show is awesome. I'm on Season 2 Episode 1 right now, so this isn't going to be a full review, but there are still a lot of good things.
The show starts out showing the main character, Walter White driving in a RV with a passed out man with a gas mask in the passenger seat and two men underneath a blanket in the cabin of the RV. You notice he has no pants on. He crashes and gets out of the car, hearing police sirens. He points a gun at the trail where the police would have come from, and it cuts off.

Now the real parts that make sense begin. It shows Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher. He has a pregnant wife named Skyler and his son, Walter Jr. who has Cerebral Palsy. Walter is diagnosed with an incurable form of lung cancer, which is also in a late stage. His brother-in-law, Hank, who is married to Skyler's sister Marie, is a Drug Enforcement Administration officer. When Hank shows Walt how much profit meth cookers make, Walt is shown in deep thought. Walt coincidentally sees Jesse Pinkman, a former student, who is a druggie. Walt realizes that with his chemistry skills with Jesse's dealing experience, they can make huge amounts of money. Walt approaches Jesse, and nonchalantly asks him to start cooking crystal meth. At first, Jesse is surprised, but later he gives in and they buy an RV and go out to the desert to cook meth. And assuming from people's reactions, they make some pretty dang good meth. I don't want to give too much away, but that's the basics.

From left: Walter Jr, Walter, Skyler, Marie, Hank, Marie, Jesse
In my opinion, this show is pretty amazing. It mixes normal "good person" life with the risks of drug dealing, a plot I don't think I've ever seen before. It is very well written, includes lots of clever plot sequences, and there are many scenes that will surprise you. All of the characters act very well, especially Walter, Hank, and Jesse.
Also, Walt looks pretty badass with a shaved head, and even more with a goatee added to his mustache.

Watch this show, I promise, it is amazing!

50 Followers thanks!

Well, I finally got 50 followers! I've been anticipating this day seeing followers in the high 40s for the past few days, but I finally got it! Thanks guys, I know my last few posts have been quick, but I promise I'll write more thorough and informative posts now. Thing is, I haven't been able to get any games to review, but I will be putting up some Minecraft posts when I get my new computer and build it, probably by the end of the month or the first week, depending on how quickly Newegg and Amazon ship their products. I'm also waiting another month to buy my graphics card, a XFX Radeon 6850 for $80, because I realized that if I can get that money by next month anyway, why not spend a little (or in this case 2x) more on a better graphics card. Also if there are any really good graphics cards under $200 (145 euros), and if it is worth spending the extra money, please suggest one.
You can check out my PC configuration in my page, The everchanging computer set up I'm planning to buy, and leave any recommendations.
Another update is I've been watching The Walking Dead first season to be ready when the second comes out October 16. I've watched the first episode, and I will be going back to watch a few more when I am done writing this post. After that, I'm going to start watching Breaking Bad, I've heard that it is really good, but I've never really gotten into it until now.
I'm also watching House on Mondays, Mythbusters on Wednesdays and The Office on Thursdays.
Well that's pretty much it, I'll be trying to get some non-game related material out until I get my computer.

RAGE

Doom, the biggest pioneer of FPSs was created in 1993 by a company in Texas named id Software. They have paved the way for modern FPSs like Call of Duty and Battlefield, but you've probably heard that a million times.
They have recently come out with a new game named RAGE. From the gameplay I've seen I think it looks pretty cool, and a lot of people have been saying that it looks like Fallout but more focused on FPS. Just look the comments for this video.

The commentator I mentioned before, MisterFantasmo is doing a let's play of this game and I am very excited to watch because I will not be able to play this game until probably the end of next month, if I am not glued to BF3 by then.

The biggest issue with this game is that the textures load up too slow, when you look away and look back, the texture reload, making it look kind of cheesy, hopefully they fix that.
Other than that, this looks like a really awesome game and I can't wait to play it.

Random Thought #1: At what age should people stop Trick or Treating

Halloween is a holiday where kids go out in silly overpriced costumes and go door to door threatening people for candy. I remember going trick or treating when I was in a kid, and enjoying the various candies I got from neighbors. In middle school I used to debate looking like an overgrown kid to go get pounds of delicious candy, but I usually contained myself and stole from my parents' stash. Last time I went trick or treating was in 7th grade, but I didn't get that much candy because my costume was a Trader Joe's bag with holes cut out for eyes.
That brings me to my thought, at what age should kids stop going out trick or treating?
I think around 6-7th grade should be the cutoff.
It's not that I feel embarrassed to be seen from the people giving me candy, but I am embarrassed to be seen next to a bunch of 5 year olds.
But candy is delicious and I always think of going trick or treating when Halloween comes around every year.

Mister Fantasmo

Hey guys, I want to tell you about a Youtube commentator who is probably one of my favorites, if not the favorite. I don't really watch commentaries on Youtube for the gameplay unless it's a new game, so watching some commentators put the same game over and over again becomes annoying and tedious. MisterFantasmo mostly puts CoD videos, but he also has a let's play channel where he put up several Dead Island videos, and he's going to continue his on hiatus Amnesia, Minecraft, Terraria, and SuperMeatBoy videos.
He is a college student studied for something that he has never said. He plays the PS3, so it is a nice break from all the XBox commentators. He calls his audience "nuggets" for a reason I don't know.
Overall, his personality is great, he's humorous and random, and his videos turn out pretty funny, and he can continue to entertain you even if the gameplay is too short and he puts a black screen up.
Here is a video he put up a couple of days ago, portraying both his thoughts while playing games and the BS of Black Ops, it's only 2 minutes, so I suggest you watch until the end to see the truly funny part.

He also made a couple of skits with his friend KidLazer, who is also very random like him, and imo seems to have no neck.

More BF3 Beta Thoughts

After having played it more, I have some more things to say about this game.

  • First of all, I think they did something to make the graphics look better, it looks better than how it looked when I first downloaded it. Maybe I just got used to the graphics, I don't know.
  • You die way too quickly. CoD even takes a few milliseconds before you die, in BF3, you can die while it seems like you only got hit once.
  • Operation Metro is becoming boring, they should have picked Caspian Border for the map, it looks much more fun.
  • The blowtorch is extremely glitched, sometimes it doesn't shoot, sometimes it doesn't do the pointing animation.
  • Sometimes, if you reload it won't make the reload animation, I've felt this more with the Snipers but it has happened to the AK once.
  • Barely anything is destructible, not like the Battlefield we know and love
Even with those, I am still having fun and I think I am Level 12.

Battlefield 3 Beta Thoughts

What's up guys, I've been playing the BF3 Beta all day yesterday and today, and just decided to give you guys my thoughts about it.
My biggest gripe is that it's only one map and only one game mode. If it was Rush on like 3 maps, or 3 different game modes on Operation Metro, it would be awesome.
I went to my friend's house to play Caspian Border on his PC only to learn that they shut down the Caspian Border servers (I think it would have made more sense to shut down the weaker map: Metro). That kind of sucked too.
The first thing I noticed about this game was, the sound. Especially if you are wearing a headset, the noise atmosphere of this game sounds amazing. You can hear people pretty far from you, and you can hear explosions all the way across the map.
Which is a good transition to my next point, the map is huge. I've been playing mostly CoD the past few years, and I'm used to small maps with a lot of action. Don't get me wrong, big maps are awesome, even better imo.
I didn't even know that this part in the picture existed for the first few matches I played.

My friend who is a more professional at Battlefield told me that other maps are even bigger. That should be awesome.
One thing I hate is that it's not fully destructible, you can make craters from grenades, cut down trees, destroy some walls, and shoot the face of some walls off. I played BC2 only a couple times, but I remember it was almost a fully destructible environment. I don't know, maybe it's because it's only a beta, or maybe it's just the map, but I'm disappointed with it.
The graphics aren't nearly as good as any gameplay we've seen, but I'm pretty sure the graphics are compressed for the beta.
The gameplay is awesome though. It's fun and exciting. The park outside can get a little annoying, getting sniped by LMG's and stuff, but once you go inside the subway station, it is really fun. The hitmarkers seem a little slow, bu maybe that's just my aim. One thing is that you can't cook grenades. I don't know why, you just can't. Once you get the controls down, its really fun, for a while. I got kind of bored playing the same game and map consecutively, so I played some MW2, and after I came back, I had fun again. Now I'm writing this post.
Another thing I hate are the spawns, sometimes I spawn on a teammate and I get killed instantly. Sometimes I spawn in the spawn zone (can't remember the name) and I still get killed instantly. I guess they can't fix spawning on your teammates and dying, but they should fix the spawn zones.
Well that's pretty much it, going to go play some more now!

My new Background

Hey guys, I just wanna let you know about my new background, my friend over at http://gamingwall.blogspot.com/ made this background for me and he would appreciate it if you go check out his blog.

Little Big Planet!

Hello everyone, I want to tell you about one of my favorite games, Little Big Planet. While looking at the cover and playing through the campaign might make it seem like a child's game, there are so many things you can create in the create mode! While Little Big Planet's create mode didn't have much electronic and mechanical options, LBP2 brought a whole new array of mechanical tools.
I have created so much stuff in LBP's create mode that I don't even remember most of them. My best project is one that I am working on with a friend. It is a Left 4 Dead-esque zombie killer with advanced zombies, utilizing the Sackbots and Creatinator. Sackbots are, well Sackboys (or girls) with robotic programming built into them. The creatinator is a Helmet with a shooter at the end of it, which can shoot virtually anything that will fit, be it a bullet or a train.

The first part is (imo) awesome, but we have started the second part and just kind of left it on hiatus for about a month. I want to get back to working on it. When we finally publish the first part, probably this weekend or the next, I will post the name so those of you with a Playstation 3 and LBP2 can go play it if you desire.

So back to the game, there are so many things you can do with it. Don't pass it off as a kid's game. Seriously, try it, if you have an imagination and you are creative, this game will be so fun, and not as mindless as (dare I say it?) a shooter.

New Battlefield 3 Trailer... for a trailer

Trailerception...
That's what these guys are saying. Sure it's a short trailer, but what's so bad? Would you rather have nothing then a short 25 second clip?
The top rated comment just pissed me off:

"Just release the fricking game instead of wasting your time coming out with 100 unnecessary trailers." - indirulz1234

They made a release date already, what does making trailer have anything to do with it? They're trying to promote the game.

I can't say that I necessarily like the video, considering only about 12 seconds of it is actual gameplay, (and it's really grinding my gears that gameplay is not a word and the stupid red lines come underneath it every single time I write gameplay).

Well, I'm not going to be able to play the beta, except for going over to my friend's house who is going to have the beta since he actually has a computer not built in 2003.

Hopefully it's fun though!

Check out my friend's channel

This is my friend Joey's channel, where he puts out Black Ops and MW2 videos. He only has 3 videos out right now, so if you could support him, that would be great! He has a weird taste in music though.

The Office Season 8

The Office, one of my favorite shows is premiering its 8th season tonight at 9pm and will air new episodes (hopefully) every week on Thursdays at 9pm. To be honest, I don't know whether to be excited or disappointed. As most Office followers know, Michael Scott, played by Steve Carell, has left the show, and it is unknown who is going to be the replacement, though the sneak peeks suggest that it is going to be James Spader who is going to take over the manager position.
Although I am excited for the new season, in my opinion, I think the show will go downhill because of Carell's absence.
If Carrel returns ever even once, even just his voice, I will cry.

COD Zombies

I got to tell you, I hate the multiplayer part of Black Ops which is why I returned it to get MW2. But the zombies is awesome. Whenever I go to a friend's house, we play zombies. It starts out slow, but after you get past round 15-20, it is loads of fun. I remember when WAW came out and I torrented it for my PC, and after I beat the campaign, I still played zombies for a couple of weeks, just by myself. It is not scary, as Treyarch wanted it to be, but it still gives you a thrill. I even got the app for my iPod and bought all the map packs. Let me share some records:
On Nacht der Untoten I got to round 29 solo, and round 46 on the iPod version with a friend.
On Verruckt I got to round 32 solo, and round 39 on the iPod with a friend.
On Shi no Numa, I got to round 22 solo, and with a friend we got both the Wunderwaffe DG-2 using an easter egg, and we could pretty much go on forever, but we stopped at level 50, due to getting bored.
On Der Riese, solo I got to round 19 (so good :D) and with 2 friends I got to round 40 with friends.
On Kino der Toten, I got to round 37 solo, and round 37 multiplayer with my friend on Black Ops.
On Ascension, I got to round 18 solo, and round 36 with 3 friends.

Minecraft 1.8 finally released

I know, I know, so many freaking posts about Minecraft, but this is important. As you know 1.8 was prereleased last weekend, but now it was released for real.
Notch's tweet confirms this:
We just uploaded Minecraft 1.8, but minecraft.net isn't up right now because of web ops stuff.
Well have fun playing legit 1.8!

Minecraft 1.8 LEAKED!

I know, I know, so many posts about Minecraft 1.8, but this is important! Minecraft 1.8 has been leaked!
It was leaked on Reddit, but later Notch said that it was OK that people used it. Jeb, a Minecraft Developer was most likely the one that leaked it, he said that he would release it if he solved a problem for "expert users".
I didn't download it (because I don't have a Minecraft account lol) and I don't have a computer good enough to run it, but you can have fun with it!

My friend is giving me a keyboard mouse combo for free and I will just buy a $40 desk from craigslist or something and will use my 22" TV as a monitor.

Overall with the Speakers its about $440, so I will probably be able to get it by 2 months from now.

Compare this to a similar computer that you buy already built without speakers and its about $650.

Also, building a computer will give you skill with computers, which is a very good choice if you are interested in a computer related career.

Also why the hell would you buy a Mac Laptop for $1300 when you could buy a PC with the same specs for around $800? Not a Mac hater, I would definitely buy a Mac if I was rich, but PC's just seem so much better at a better price!

New House Season Starts Oct 3

Hey guys, I just wanted to give you guys an update on one of my favorite TV shows: House. I did not get much into it until season 5, and since then I'm pretty sure I have watched every episode and some others from seasons 1-4 on Hulu and other websites. I gotta say, I'm pretty psyched for season 8. The season 7 finale was very strange, it showed Gregory House crashing into Lisa Cuddy's house with his car, returning her brush, and walking away. I hope this is not the final season, but it might be, as House is going to prison and it is a huge difference from past seasons. Also, Cuddy is not returning, but I wouldn't blame her, dealing with House like that. I can't wait until October 3!

Minecraft 1.8

Minecraft 1.8 looks pretty cool! The thing that looks awesome is sprinting. I really don't know why Notch didn't add this before, but it's finally going to be here. Before, you walked oh so slowly to your destination, but now you can cut that time and get to your destination much faster. You can also attack enemies while sprinting, which launches them back, which will be useful for spiders and creepers. Another thing I like is that the biomes are are larger and much more defined, unlike before when you would get a 4x4 area of sand with one cactus, and it would be a desert. The ravines look cool, but look like they could also be an annoyance, if maybe you are walking around rendering more map and a ravine appears right in front of you. The endermen are very strange, but probably won't be annoying, unless you accidentally look at them and they start attacking you. AND FINALLY ZOMBIES WON'T DROP FEATHERS!!! Why it was like that, I have no idea. And chickens and cows will drop their own meat. There are also silverfish, which are little bugs, which I hate irl, they're just creepy and disgusting. Also blue spiders, which will be more rare but stronger than normal spiders. You can charge up the bow, which makes sense, so using a clicker or whatever people use to make their clicks faster will not work anymore. And they added critical hits, kind of like a very subtle trickshot from CoD, where you jump and hit. There is also more farming options, like the melon and plantable pumpkins. There is also a new food consuming animation, and you can stack food.
Looks awesome!

COD XP MW3 Gameplay Thoughts

What's up guys? Well as you know COD XP is going on and they released some gameplay from MW3. It looks OK. The reason I say that is it looks like an update to MW2. I was thinking about getting it, but after I saw this video, I changed my mind. UMP45 returns. And it looks as cheap as Modern Warfare 2.
I wish I would get this game, but I don't have money, and I don't want to go through so much stress like I did in Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops. Ugh, Black Ops. I heard it's better on Xbox, but from the videos I've seen of BO on Xbox, it doesn't look much better. But this post is about MW3. The only thing I am excited for is the Spec Ops, and I just hope that you can play 2 player online like in BO. That was a nice addition, I hope they bring it back, because most likely at least some of my friends will be getting it, and I can play with them.
The other thing I like is that folding secondary gun, it looks beast.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Hey guys, you've probably heard of a game called "Amnesia". It is a PC Horror Game which involves around the journey of Daniel, in his quest to kill Alexander of Brennenburg. Daniel wakes up in the castle of Brennenburg in Prussia, with now knowledge of himself, besides his name, where he's from, and that something is hunting him. He later finds a note from his former self, which says that he erased his own memory, and that he needs to descent into the Inner Sanctum and kill Alexander. While the reason for this is not clear, after finding notes and diary entries, it is revealed that while Daniel was on an exploration trip in Africa, he came across a mysterious orb that seems to change shape. But because of the orb, he is plagued by nightmares and pursued bye a shadow. Alexander of Brennenburg, a Prussian Baron, promises Daniel that he can help him and invites him to his castle. But Daniel's hope is crushed when what he has to supposedly do to escape from the shadow is revealed. Alexander is actually on the hunt for a mysterious "vitae". Vitae is collected from inside human beings. Alexander is actually an other-worldly being who wants vitae and the orb that Daniel has found to return to his world. When he finds Daniel, he thinks he can kill two birds with one stone by making him perform torture and kill people to collect vitae, and he can take the orb from Daniel. Once Daniel understands that his only hope of salvation is a lie, he drinks the potion and erases his memory, and the game begins.

The main objective of the game is to complete various tasks and puzzles to find his way to the Inner Sanctum and kill Alexander. But this does not come without challenges. The Gatherers are a group of deformed humanoid creatures, which were created when Alexander poisoned his subjects, and they were disfigured and tasked with patrolling Brennenburg Castle. They go around and try to find you, and kill you in 1 or 2 hits if they get close enough. Daniel cannot use any weapons, even though there are saw, brooms, and other objects that could be used as weapons. Your only choice is to hide or run from them. You go around collecting oil for your lantern, and tinderboxes to light up torches, candles, etc. If you are exposed to scary things, such as the monsters, or you stay in the dark too long, you lose your sanity, which distorts your view, and makes your character harder to control. When you light something up or use your lantern, you regain some of your sanity, but when you finish puzzles, you regain most of it. You go in many rooms, with many challenges, some using speed, intelligence, patience, and perseverance. There are multiple endings, but I'll leave that for you to figure out.

Minecraft

Hey, I'd like to talk about one of my favorite games, MINECRAFT! I haven't been able to play Minecraft, due to my laptop blowing up (I actually broke the screen pretty badly in a funny way). But as you may know from one of my older posts, I am going to buy a new computer soon, and I will finally be able to play Minecraft again! YAY! Secretly, I just downloaded an updatable torrent. I feel bad, and it kind of sucks, because Minecraft is much more fun with friends. I will buy it when I get my new PC, as it is only €14.95 or $22. I really like this game, I understand why people might not, but I don't understand why someone would hate it. Playing by yourself, you might get bored, once you do everything and you don't want to no life it up to create a huge castle or a replica of the 7 star hotel in Dubai or something. But playing with your friends is a great experience, as you will be able to build, mine, explore, or just mess around with your friends.

Uncharted 3 Beta Thoughts

I played the first two Uncharteds and really enjoyed them. I downloaded the UC3 Beta a couple of weeks ago, and I got to be honest, but it doesn't seem like it would have a long lasting appeal. IT had a couple of game modes, one standard TDM and some mixed co op mode, where you take treasures and kill people and defend some objective. It was fun, don't get me wrong, but it didn't seem like it would be fun for a long time. Anybody else tried it and thoughts?

Steve Jobs steps down?

Steve Jobs, the well known CEO of Google has resigned his head status.
"I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know," he wrote. "Unfortunately, that day has come."

But don't worry Apple fanboys, he is still going to work at Apple as chairman of the board of directors. As Steve's requests, Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook became CEO. Steve has led Apple through the years with various jobs, giving the idea and helping develop the iPod, iPhone, and iPad, as well as their line of Mac computers. Although I really liked their iPod touches, mine is a really poopy 2nd Gen which crashes every 10 minutes. It has a crack on the screen, and is extremely slow. I somehow bought it a week before the 3rd Gens came out, but I didn't figure this out until after my return time was long over, so this has created a huge bias to Apple. If I could afford another one, I'd wait until the end of September and buy the 5th gen, but that is probably not going to happen. But I think Jobs has done an amazing job as CEO, and even though I despise their computers for the lack of playing games, I like it overall.

Zombie Games

The first zombie game I played was the Zombies mode of CoD WaW. It was an amazing game mode designed to kill the filthy Zombies from over the world. Mainly it was Nazi Zombies, but in Shi no Numa, you fought against Japanese Zombies. Then came Black Ops, with new maps. Ascension had Russian Cosmonaut Zombies, Five had American Zombies, Call of the Dead had Russian Diver Zombies, Shangri La had Himalayan Zombies, and Moon has astronaut. I like zombie games because of the fact that even though you are usually so much stronger than them, but they outnumber you. I am also fascinated by Dead Space, with a very special kind of alien zombies or something. I am also excited for the upcoming game Dead Island, where your daughter turns into a zombie and tries to eat you.

Good Monitor for less than $100?

I need a decent sized (20" is fine) monitor for the computer I want to buy, if we can't get a bigger TV. If we do get a bigger TV soon, I will use my current TV (a pretty small 24" I think) for a monitor. I don't really know much about monitors, but I want one that I can play games and watch HD videos on. Please leave a suggestion in the comments below. Thanks :).

How do you guys sleep?

It usually takes me at least an hour to fall asleep. I roll around, shift, pull my blankets tighter, blabity blabity bla. Apparently the average time to fall asleep is 7 MINUTES! No. No. Not me. I don't know how other people do it, I just have way too many things on my mind to fall asleep. I tried counting sheep, but that doesn't work. Leave me some tips on how to fall asleep. Please I really need it.

Game Console War

Hey guys, I want to list the pros and cons of different game consoles to give you my opinion about them.
PS Thanks for all your comments about TV shows on my last post.

Playstation 3
Pros
Free online
More exclusive games
More processors
Blu-ray
Low failure rate
Bigger and replacable HDD
Quieter

Cons
Not as well designed online network
No cross game chat

Xbox 360
Pros
Better online network
More players
Cross Game voice chat

Cons
High Failure Rate (RRoD)
Proprietary Hard Drive
Louder
Power Supply not in unit

Computer/PC
Pros
Can play games at a higher FPS than consoles
Can do much more things than play games
Higher Resolution
Dedicated Servers
Mods
Minecraft

Cons
Much more expensive
More problems with games (unupdated drivers, incompatible specs, etc)
Bad gameplay for those without good computers

These are the facts, not opinions so don't disagree. I have only played XBOX 360 a couple of times, I don't own one, so most of those were taken from different websites. I like PS3, but if I had the money to buy an MLG gaming computer that can run Crysis 2 max settings at 960985938903 FPS or something, I would definitely pick that over a console. Leave your opinions in the comments section.

TV Shows

My favorite TV Shows are in no order: The Office, House, Man vs Wild, that other survival show with those two guys. I don't watch TV, but please recommend some good shows to me. Sorry for short post today, I didn't have much to write about and I had homework to do.

Modern Warfare 3 vs Battlefield 3

Hello everybody

As both these games are coming out in a couple of months, I decided to tell you my thoughts on them.

To be honest, I have not played Battlefield games besides at friend's houses and a demo of Battlefield 1943 on my Playstation. I played Black Ops, and returned it to get Modern Warfare 2. Setting aside the UMP45, the noob tubes, and the Commando, it is an awesome game, but I'm not going to go more in depth as this has been said millions of times before.

Modern Warfare 3 First Impressions
The gameplay makes it look like a better version of Modern Warfare 2. I know it has the same engine as the previous MW's, but hopefully Infinity Ward have learned their lesson. I will most likely not buy it unless I have $60 to spare, but I will probably play it at friend's houses.

Battlefield 3 First Impressions
AMAZING looking. The graphics look amazing. Just beautiful. My favorite thing about the BF series the Frostbite Engine. You can DESTROY WALLS? Camping is over! Well probably nobody would camp anyway given the huge maps, but whatever. My BF absence is showing. I will preorder this game as soon as I   have enough money.

As you can see, I mostly favor Battlefield 3, but only time will tell.

Hope you enjoyed my first real post,
CrazyTurkishBoy

PS Sorry for my nooby writing, I've never done this before.

Please post comments if you have any suggestions.

Hello World!

Hi everyone, this is my new blog. I will be mostly talking about video games and video game related things, TV, just entertainment pretty much. I hope you enjoy. Let me tell you a bit about myself.

I was born in Turkey, but I moved to California when I was 6. The first console I got was a Gamecube, then a DS, a Wii, and I am currently using a PS3 for most of my gaming. I most play CoD but I'm not very good at it. I'm not a super MLG Pro, my KDR is around 1. Other than that, I only have 1 game, LittleBigPlanet 2, which I play with my little sister and create amazing levels, I highly recommend this game, even though it looks like a little kid's game.

Well that was more about my video gaming history, but whatever.

Hope you guys enjoy my next post, which will, hopefully, be more entertaining. I've never blogged before so bear with me.

Bye

CrazyTurkishBoy
