It's amazing how much you can save if you build your own computer!

Hey guys, I wanted to give you an update on my computer set-up because it has changed.
Here's my info again:

Biostar A880G+ MATX Motherboard

AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition Callisto 3.2 GHz (can unlock the other 2 cores to get and x4 saving me $32!)

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) (going to overclock to 1600)

Case WITH PSU!!!!
COOLER MASTER Elite RC-310-OWR460 Black SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case RS-460-PSAR-J3, Elite 460W Power Supply (I just saw this recently and it saved me $20)

Hard Drive
Western Digital 500 GB Sata 6.0 Gb-s 16 MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Bare-oem Drives

Sony 24X SATA Internal DVD+/-RW Drive AD-7260S-0B - Bulk (Black)

Graphics Card
XFX ATI Radeon HD 5670 1 GB GDDR5 DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card

2x MASSCOOL FD08025S1M4 80mm Case Fan

Logitech S-220 17 Watts 2.1 Multimedia Speaker System - OEM
$23.99 (no shipping)

My friend is giving me a keyboard mouse combo for free and I will just buy a $40 desk from craigslist or something and will use my 22" TV as a monitor.

Overall with the Speakers its about $440, so I will probably be able to get it by 2 months from now.

Compare this to a similar computer that you buy already built without speakers and its about $650.

Also, building a computer will give you skill with computers, which is a very good choice if you are interested in a computer related career.

Also why the hell would you buy a Mac Laptop for $1300 when you could buy a PC with the same specs for around $800? Not a Mac hater, I would definitely buy a Mac if I was rich, but PC's just seem so much better at a better price!

  1. That is impressive.. I really should try to see that for myself!
